Transformers 2

Transformers [1] is a great movie, don’t you think? It had action, jokes and babes (lol!), a film truly worthy of fanboy-ism.

Well, Transformers 2 is out and its a ‘okay‘ movie. It had action, jokes and babes (lol again) but it was definitely not as good as the first. What made it ‘okay‘ and not ‘great‘? Well…basically, the story sucked. All the story was, for me, was simply a way to promote the action. It had a lot of fanservice for Transformer geeks, and action came in bucket-loads, but the story was pretty much fail and there were too many hardcore dramatic Hollywood moments: way too many. Heh, there was even a Terminator-esque killer-robot-walking-through-smoke-filled-hallway scene…anyway I thought it was.

Anyway, if you liked the first one, you should see this anyway. The action sure is spectacular stuff, especially so if CG robots turn you on, but do not expect a gripping plot.

I also saw a trailer for G.I. Joe, and we couldn’t stop laughing…not because it looked bad (it actually looked kinda cool), but because it starred Chris Eccleston (i think thats how its spelt), who happened to play Ben Jago from a Othello film we were studying at school…it was great!

Eden of the East phone

Attempt at traditional-style art

I’ve made the decision…to attempt drawing some manga using traditional ink pens to see if it suits me better. I’ll be sure to upload whatever results I have, when I manage to get one of these pens:

Well. I hope all goes well! I have to go to homework, draw a little and then practice some guitar (my brother needs me to learn all these songs because his friend dropped out of a gig…my only incentive is the $100 that awaits me). *EDIT: (It seems that the $100 can’t justify the effort I have to put in. No longer doing it Still need money though…)

PS3′s prototype motion controller

Well as you gamers out there know…E3 is on. Nothing really excited me about it up till now.

Sony unveiled their prototype motion controller, which seems to feature 1:1 motion on x,y and z axis’, using new technology coupled with the Playstation Eye. All I can say is: this is what will make me a gamer again…and, Nintendo is screwed unless they can match that in terms of accuracy (this seems more accurate than MotionPlus)…and graphics. Take a look for yourself:

Other things I found interesting in E3 so far:

• Nintendo is working on a more ‘mature’ Zelda utilizing MotionPlus (man I love zelda games)
• Mario Galaxy 2, FFXIII, FFXIV, MGS5, Littlebigplanet PSP, Bayonetta, Dissidia FF, God of War III

Yeah…so that PS3 motion controller made my day. What else was interesing….hmmm. Well my cousin said he slept from 2am-5:30pm today (he’s in Brisbane cos of uni). Ummm…started writing a random story idea (it involves ponies)…that’s about it!

I just realised…I have homework

Hmmm…as I was playing guitar and drawing my seinen character…I realised I have quite a bit of homework to do. I’m bored so I’ll list it (might not seem like much to you :O )

• English: Questions on Othello (due this week), Othello comparative study assessment (due in 2 weeks?)
• History: Stolen Generation questions, Assignment on Migrants’/Women’s Rights, and more! (due next week, due in 3 weeks)
• Science: Physics assignment questions (due next week)

…when I type it up it doesn’t seem like much. But I guess when you’re busy surfing the net and drawing manga…time does fly by…

Random update yay!

Yay its June! I haven’t posted in awhile…I don’t know why, probably because I haven’t been bothered.

Well school is still boring, BUT…we had a great 27th-29th of May: half our school was gone to some sporting thing…and yes, I didn’t go (shut up, it’s not because I suck at sports…it’s cos I didn’t try out… lol). Because of this event, my english and math teachers both were away coaching teams…and replacement teachers don’t really care about work! Now…the greatness of this comes from the fact that I happened to bring a poker set to school…

Lack of teachers+poker set= Poker and Blackjack in classes. ‘Twas fun.

Well…what else has happened since last time?

• Got someone to help me draw manga…so now we’re a team of 3
• Discovered Yen Plus! manga/manwha magazine…looks good (but sucks having to import EVERYTHING I want to buy)
• Bought some manwha online…still waiting for them (expensive shipping FTL)
• Started practicing my realism/seinen style art
• Working on some chibi style characters for my mum’s custom stamp business (www.littlenotes.com.au www.littlenotes.etsy.com)
• Started playing Windwaker on gamecube again
• Started learning Kissing the Shadows by Children of Bodom on guitar
• Poker

So yeah…as you can see, my life is very interesting and productive. Well, back to drawing or typing up another blog post or checking any news on E3 2009.
